The ProfessionalR.com.au site provides employers and recruiters with access to personal information relating to individuals who have completed a ProfessionalQ assessment (“candidates”). 1. Scope of this policy

Milcom recognises the importance of your privacy, and that you have a right to control how your personal information is collected and used. We know that providing personal information is an act of trust and we take that seriously. This policy explains how Milcom complies with the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. This policy applies to the types of personal information handled by Milcom that are subject to the coverage of the Privacy Act. Employee records are not generally subject to the Privacy Act, so this policy does not address how Milcom handles employee information. Milcom collects personal information from you when you tell us information about yourself, for example by registering as an employer or recruitment agency for access to our database of candidates for recruitment purposes. This information is necessary for us to authenticate your identity before we provide you with personal information relating to candidates who have completed the ProfessionalQ assessment process. Once you have registered on our site, we will also collect personal information relating to your use of our services.The personal information that we collect may be provided on forms filled out by individuals, in face to face meetings, e-mail messages, telephone conversations and from information provided by a third party.
3. Our use of cookies

The ProfessionalR database contains information relating to skilled professionals who have undertaken a Professional Q assessment. Initially, when a search is conducted on the Professional R database by a prospective employer, a record is displayed concerning a candidate, without the candidate being directly identified on the record that is displayed. In the event that an employer or recruiter indicates that they would like to contact that candidate in relation to a potential employment opportunity, Milcom will send an e-mail to their client advising them that if they are interested in the job opportunity, to contact you on the details provided on the e-mail. Milcom is not responsible for the accuracy of the information that has been provided to us by third parties such as other employers or candidates whose information is included on our database. Our assessment of candidates is based on the information that is provided to us, and we ask those individuals to provide evidence of this information. We advise employers and recruiters to seek confirmation of the accuracy of this information if they are considering employing a candidate.

5. Using and disclosing personal information

Milcom uses personal information in the process of providing its professional assessment and human recruitment services. Milcom may use or disclose personal information, in the following circumstances:· When authorised to do so, such as in communications with an employer or recruiter or with a candidate about whom an employer or recruiter has expressed an interest in potential recruitment· when it is necessary to provide you with a service which you have requested, such as access to the ProfessionalR database· when required or authorised by law · to implement our terms of service · to protect the rights or property of Milcom, any Milcom user, or any member of the public · if the assets and operations of the business or a part of the business are transferred to another party as a going concern.

Milcom and its affiliates recognise the trust you place in us when you give us personal information. Like many businesses, Milcom uses a range of service providers and contractors to make our business as efficient as possible.
